Automate your FRITZ! Smart Home – from schedules to smart if-then combinations: With these tips you can add automatic switching to your FRITZ! Smart Home.

Recycling settings with templates and scenes

In the FRITZ! Smart Home you can save settings for automation for reuse: Save the settings of a device or group of devices in a template. The template can also contain schedules or other automatic switching settings. A scene, such as ‘Leaving Home’, contains all settings that are to be activated when the scene is triggered.

What are routines?

With routines, the FRITZ! Smart Home receives automations with if-then combinations: If a condition you specify occurs, actions are carried out.Routines can be set up in the FRITZ!Box user interface: First, a device is specified as the trigger and then a condition that has to be met is defined. You have the choice between a change in status or an event in one of your FRITZ!DECT products, for example the switching status, current power or measured temperature. In a second step, you define the action – scenes or templates – to be carried out by the routine.

Scenes and routines expand the FRITZ! Smart Home with completely customizable options. Start your fan when the room reaches a certain temperature – or your humidifier as soon as the humidity drops below a certain level? Set a standby circuit as soon as the power consumption of the connected devices falls below a certain value? These and many other practical features can be implemented with routines.

Scheduled switching

When should your LED lamp turn on? Via the convenient user interface you specify the times when FRITZ!DECT 500 is on. When should your coffee machine provide that fresh wake-up aroma? Weekdays at 7:00 but not until 9:30 on the weekend? Automatic switching takes care of that.

The countdown function is quite practical and easy to configure. Water your garden and set a countdown time after which the sprinklers will be turned off, or have the basement light turn off after a few minutes.

Random switching – ideal for holidays

What many people do by laboriously setting timers: Random switching for longer absences from the home. Via the user interface of the FRITZ!Box it is easy to set the duration of your trip and the intervals at which your lighting should be randomly switched on and off.

Switch at sunrise/sunset

You can even use the time of sunrise and sunset to define switching points. For this, select ‘Sunrise/Sunset’ switching to have the FRITZ! lights and FRITZ! sockets switch on and off inverse to the sunlight. Select ‘Natural light sequence’ for switching the FRITZ!DECT 500 LED light on and off to soften the transition.
